Art Nouveau Jade Pendant Brooch
with Seed Pearls in 14kt Yellow Gold
This early 1900s pendant brooch combination is a beautiful and whimsical example of Art Nouveau design as it is extremely fluid entertaining a leaf motif. The centerpiece is a lovely marquise cabochon cut jade gemstone weighing about 6.00 carats displaying a light to medium whitish green hue. The gem is surrounded by a halo of seed pearls as well as a graceful ribbon-like design of gold encrusted with more seed pearls. There are 98 total seed pearls encrusted and they are a mix of round and off-round shapes display in a white/cream color with pink and yellow overtones. The other jade gemstone which dangles on the bottom of the pendant is pear cabochon cut and weighs about 1.75 carats. It displays a slightly darker whitish green hue than the larger gemstone and is 4-prong set in 14kt gold. The piece is in excellent condition considering its age and is very unique and well-crafted.
