Edwardian/Belle Epoque circa 1890-1920 is characterized by extensive use of diamonds in lightweight, almost lace like platinum settings, frequently millgrained and pierced. Sometimes called the “Garland” style, it often incorporates the fluid style of Art Nouveau with more traditional foliate and floral motifs. Design roots are 18th century with particular emphasis on Versailles. Garlands, ribbons, tassels, bow motifs, laurel wreaths and lace are common design elements. Also saw the first extensive use of platinum.

The enchanting pastel blue gemstones are surmounted by curvaceous, stylized heart shaped sections sparkling with bright white old mine-cut diamonds and silky white natural pearls.

A dark midnight blue faceted triangular sapphire, weighing just a shade over a carat, is crowned by a stylized fleur-de-lys flanked on each side by mirror image circular motifs, all aglitter with tiny twinkling rose-cut diamonds.
