The Palace has confirmed that it is Queen Mary’s diamond bandeau tiara, which the Queen lent to Meghan. “The diamond bandeau is English and was made in 1932, with the entre brooch dating from 1893. Made of diamonds and platinum, the tiara has eleven separate sections. It was made for Queen Mary, the Princess of Teck, who gave the brooch as a present to Princess Mary in 1893, when she married Prince George, the Duke of York. The bandeau and the broach were given to Queen Elizabeth in 1953.
