Burmese ruby and diamond ring, centering on an oval-cut Burmese ruby weighing 10.02 carats (AGTA-certified: natural ruby, no indications of heat treating, of Burmese origin), mounted mounted in a fancy platinum setting, pave-set with circular-cut diamonds.

Art Deco Burmese ruby and diamond ring. Set with a natural un-enhanced Burmese oval old cut ruby in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 1.50 carats, flanked by two vertically set and two horizontally set trapezium shape baguette cut diamonds in open back half rub over settings with a combined weight of 0.50 carats, and set to top and bottom with two slightly graduated rows of round old cut diamonds, ten in total with a combined weight of 0.30 carats in open back claw and rub over settings. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.80 carats, all to a hexagonal cluster form with pierced openwork scrolled gallery and raised split shoulders, leading smoothly down to a tapered flat solid shank. Tested platinum, marked ‘N5339’, circa 1935, accompanied by Gem & Pearl Laboratory report #07374.

Rubies hailing from the Burmese mines possess a coloring that is unmatched by other rubies in depth and richness. The jewels are set in a fine platinum mounting with millegrain accents amongst 1.00 carat of sparkling single-cut white diamonds.
The rubies are certified by the American Gemological Laboratories (AGL) to be Burmese origin (Mong Hsu type).
The platinum mounting is signed “Cartier.”
